School of Architecture buiding, designed by the architect Lluís Nadal, needed to be upgraded to the current regulations of accessibility, security and fire. The greater complexity involves to separate the building in 4 fire areas without altering the main structure, circulations and current uses. The aim of the proposal is to adapt the building to the standards with minimal interventions, so that the existing structure retains the characteristics and the relationship between original parts. In this way, it has been possible to maintain the value of courtyards. Other actions also improve the safety of circulation corridors and transform the building into a fully accessible school.
