Its variable geometry is the result of physical adaptation to the plot, ground floor is released for better adaptation to the surroundings, and higher plants are adapted and give value to the neighboring end walls. The project has three areas: The ground floor, the basement and the rest. The ground floor is considered the extension of public-street space, and allows temporary uses and distributes to the rest of plants. The basement is an extension of this program but used as an exhibition hall. The third major area is planned as Civic Center, with fixed activities but which may vary. At first plants are specialized by age, school, young, study, seniors and moderate physical activity, taking advantage of the terraces overlooking to the sea. | Photos © Lourdes Jansana | Apartment renovation Residential building 24.844€ Size: 124sqm Developer: Private 2007 Terrassa, Barcelona | | Renovation of Saló Daurat at Palau de la Generalitat with Martínez Lapeña-Torres architects Building restoration 318.268€ Size: 152sqm Developer: Government of Catalonia 2006 Barcelona, Barcelona | Saló Daurat renovation is undertaken to make on it the meetings of the Governing Council of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The ground floor lobby organizes access and connections to the passage and to other floors, the mezzanine floor with administration program and the main theater floor. At the entrance from the square volume built is delayed to leave a covered porch access. The difficulty of the site, attached to a gas station, makes the proposal to create their own public space within the site, with terraces on the community access, separating into two the volume built and allowing cross ventilation and lighting in each house. The proposed distribution arises maximum flexibility, there is a base cell to which is added a module that allows an individual home, study, two bedrooms, adapted housing, etc. As housing intended for rent, kitchens and toilets are standardized and great storage space is provided . From the point of view of construction, industrialized systems and precast concrete panels allow a quick and economic construction and thinking about the environment, also an easy deconstruction. | New city council Las Torres de Cotillas with Borja Gutiérrez 2001 Las Torres de Cotillas, Murcia | Nursery extension La Ginesta with Borja Gutiérrez 2001 Reus, Tarragona |
